Deak
headed down south for the
B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center
opening ceremonies over the Sept. 11th, 2008 weekend. The town of
Indianola celebrated this event in grand style, as Billy Branch led
a crowd of over 1,000 harmonica-playing children down the streets
of Indianola, towards the steps of the B.B. King Blues Museum. Deak
helped along the way, inspiring the children to blow those
harps! Getting 1,000 children to do anything at the same time is a
Herculaneun effort, yet along with with Billy, Deak and Sade - Director
of Education at the B.B. King Museum - they pulled it off!
Billy
Branch said "this may be a world record"! As
the crowd gathered in anticipation, B.B. came outside to witness the
unveiling of his new museum sign, and to enjoy the fans gathered.
Deak made his way to the main stage of the B.B. King Saturday celebration,
jammin' onstage with Jesse Robinson!
Deak was all over town, and played at so many venues. Out on Sunflower
St., on the main stage of the B.B. King tent, The
Club 308 with Bill
'Howl-N-Madd' Perry,
jammed at the Club
Ebony with B.B. King, AND won a live recording session
at the Gin
Mill Galleries! Quite a weekend!!
